Ended up with a Chinese food fare again! haha, i love Crystal Jade's ramen ♥ But this time, it was Asian Kitchen's ramen. We tried the "zha jiang mian" this time round. It was superb! I love the sauce, sweet yet tasty.

Next up was the "xiao long bao". Personally, i think these were better than Crystal Jade's. It was way juicier and fresher! The thought of it makes me drool again . . .

We also ordered a crispy tofu as a side dish. Another superb dish i would say. Sweet and the sauce cum peanuts tasted a little like rojak!

Dessert was the mango puree. The entire bowl was filled with mangoes, real mangoes not ice. The sago and the chilled mangoes were indeed refreshing.

Verdict : Asian Kitchen is a MUST GO! Definitely comparable to many many chinese restaurants:)
Marinated chicken in herb&honey mustard. I thought the presentation looked quite nice haha, think my food tastes best at the start of the week! Ingredients are fresher and more available.
looks yummy doesnt it !! well it sure is. never bluff you right dear, taste like chicken but better ! a bit on the spicy side but was pretty shiok! been quite some time since i ate frog leg porridge here and once again its left me well satisfied.
1x Barley, 1x Lime juice. just thought that the sour plum added into the lime juice was quite cute, lala.
Cheesecake Cafe

They have a new stupid rule which states that each customer has to have a minimum of one order, so we ended up ordering 1x Strawberry Oreo Cheesecake , 1x Chocolate Banana Cake. SINFUL!
Both tasted great. The cheesecake was light and smooth. Loved the chocolate banana too! chunks of banana at the crust matched perfectly with the layers of chocolate mousse/ cake. yummy. cam whored while we slowly ate, liked the ambience, nice fat cushioned seats and romantic lighting.Staff informed us of another of their stupid regulations- no taking pictures of the cafe. Anyway nice place to spend late nights, with good food in a cozy setting : ) hope they change their stupid rules though lala
After a seemingly endless torturing walk in search for a simple dinner,we stumbled upon this famous ba chor mee restaurant at changi road ! Ordered 1x ba chor mee , 1x pork chop mee , 1 x water dog soup , 1x waterchestnut tofu. Tofu was out of stock and shui jiao tang didn come, staff must have shui jiao qu le.

yum! this must be one of the best ba chor/pork chop noodles ive eaten, not oily like most ba chor me stalls out there. noodle was springy and ingredients were plenty! cheap too only 3 bux/bowl. sure to be back in the future to try the tofu and other stuffs : D
Stopped by to grab some dessert/drinks. I had a 1x mango/pomelo ice blend , dear had 1x glutinous rice + vanilla ice cream float. Mango/pomelo was refreshing with bits of fruits inside to chew on.
YOGURU
After ANOTHER super long walk , managed to find the elusive Kallang leisure park ! Went to try out Yoguru yogurts which we had previously seen on an internet review.
1x YoguBliss + Granola toppings
YoguBliss consisted of the original flavoured frozen yogurt blended with dragon fruit and pomegranade. It had a very smooth texture; sweet with a hint of sourness in the right proportions. yummy! one thing we noticed was that the yogurt doesnt melt like yami yogurt or any other ice cream, which is another plus point; enabled us to slowly enjoy our dessert while we rest our tired legs.
later on went around to look at other shops, came by to The Yogurt Place , tried samples of their mango yogurt and berry yogurt. Both of us agreed that it didn taste quite as good, pretty much what you can get at supermarket yogurt + fruits. preferred the frozen yogurt offered at yoguru.
At the top floor found the japanese restaurants offering 99c/ plate sushi and pretty cheap set meals , eg $3.99 terriyaki chicken don. Not too sure abt the quality of food but anyways will make plans to pay them a visit and make a verdict. Kallang Leisure Park we'll be back!
Nice and light dish with simple ingredients. i like to mix the sauce with the rice haha yummy
Sambal Kang Kong
Thought sauce was a bit too salty for my liking, but then again cant really say because i dont eat much vegetables
Thai Style Fried Chicken
Sweet and spicy thai chilli sauce tasted yummy. Chicken was tender and crispy, a bit too much fat though ><>
Thai Red Ruby and Longan BeanCurd
Thought both was not bad, quite refreshing after our meal.
hehhe baby u continue the rest i love u !
Joo Chiat Road has many interesting small cafes and restaurants that usually only people living near that area will visit.
Vinest has been to Joo Chiat a couple of times and at this small little corner, we found this bakery cum patisserie. It doesn't have much pastries, in fact, the main highlights of the cafe were the cakes. We've walked past Obolo a couple of times late in the night usually after dinner, and the cafe would be closed. This time round, we specifically went down to Joo Chiat a little earlier just to give this cafe that is said to be using French, European and Japanese pastries as inspiration for stylish and comtemporary presentation.
When we first stepped into the store, one glance and we were able to oversee the entire cafe. They do have seats and tables, but the place is relatively small if you were to compare it with local pastry joints like Bakerzin and Coffee Bean.
As it was our first time there, we went with the usual impromptu question - what are the recommended cakes? The girl at the counter was quite friendly and she went along to introduce us some of the store's "best sellers". She mentioned the Nosiette and Mango Passion. Nosiette would be the chocolote mousse cake while Mango Passion was a cheesecake based.
Mr Vinest thought that the staff was rather "unprofessional" as she wasn't really sure of which cake to introduce because her first line was "all the cakes are very good". haha which i would love to believe and try every single one of them! sadly, our stomachs could only take so much that day as we were just opting for appetizers.
After much raving about which cheesecake to try, we settled down for the chocolate cheesecake. It looks really cute with the macaron on top.

Can you see the huge chunk of choc at the bottom of the cake? yum yum.
I love the cheesey , sweet and sour taste of the cake. Will definitely be coming back for MORE! :D
你在哪里?
that was the wacky tag line that Adrian Pang used when he was introducing this cafe on the set of a local tv production called Makan King.
Miss You Cafe wasn't really very hard to locate, if you're a frequent Simpang go-er, then perhaps you might want to walk a distance more to try out this lovely furnished cafe. The ambience and setting was pretty well done, it's a nice place for mini gatherings and mini birthday celebrations.
The staff there are nice as well, though the waitresses were a tad bit blur.

The main courses were above average, i love the sauce that goes with the chicken and the salmon for the pasta was fresh. Portions were just right though they look really huge. I wanted to order the Clay fish Pasta which was intro on the set of Makan King, but i couldn't find it anywhere on the menu. And the staff had no clue about it too. hmm, weird huh.

Now to the desserts. As everyone knows, i am a dessert person! However, it was disappointing. The waffles are soggy and anyone who has eaten waffles before could tell that these waffles are obviously frozen ones taken out from the freezer and left to heat ten minutes before. the ice cream was so-so, i mean i don't expect much but at least serve us with better crispier waffles? Even regular restaurants that are not specialized in waffles like Cartel and Swensens have no qualms in producing better quality desserts.
It was a little weird to have a puny slice of grape to match along with the strawberry too.
Owell, perhaps there are more worth while desserts to try in their menu, but the waffle ice cream was definitely a disappointment.
Overall, Miss You will be a place that i will miss. Will most probably come back some day to try out the other stuff on the menu.
