ChinaTown Food StreetDim sum was from Da Dong, last time i ate from here must have been 10 years ago! its been a long time. Liked the siew mai, m-e-a-t-y without the oily feeling, just like what a good siew mai should be like! Enjoyed the rest of the foods as well --> carrot cake+prawn , popiah, satay, yum!

Maxwell Food Centre

Was looking for deserts to 'cool' down since we were starting to sweat and all. Came across this stall selling pretty unqiue deserts. It looked pretty much like tau huay, but was termed as egg milkcurd! It came in a variety of flavours - original , almond , chocolate, mango and more. We tried the mango flavoured one this time upon reccomendation by the owner. Texture-wise it was in between a mango pudding and a soya beancurd. Nothing really fantastic i'd say, but was a pretty interesting dessert to try and something refreshing to chow on during a hot day.

Seafood Cabana

We were looking for food pretty late at night near my place so we just went opposite Kembagan MRT to grab a late dinner. Settled down at Seng Kee Black Chicken Soup Restaurant, but left eventually since the menu was pretty limited and kind of difficult to order for 2 pax. Seafood Cabana caught our attention with its beach themed decor and we thus decided to have meal there. The walls, the signboard, the chairs and flooring and tables are all made of wood, like something u'd see at the beach. And even better just an arm's reach away was the monsoon drain, acting as a substitute for the sea? haha
Crackers+nuts and lime juices. think this would be a pretty nice hangout for late night soccer matches in a more comfortable setting, compared to the other coffee shops around Hokkien Mee (M)
boy was this huge! barely managed to finish even though we shared. Felt like i stuffed a lot of mee down my tummy ! its been a while since ive eaten hokkien mee ( black kind ) so i pretty much enjoyed this. Came with quite a bit of sotong, fish cake , pork slices, prawn, vegetables as well. But after u've eaten 5++ bowls of it ,it gets sickening=s . anyways at $5.50 , super value for money! cheaper than what u get at hawker for that quantity, roar!
Claypot Tofu
I was expecting the dark sauce kind of claypot tofu actually, but this version turns out pretty good. Pretty light which im really glad since i really wouldn't want to add to the calorie-guilt from the hokkien mee! Ate quite a lot of veges from here! One thing to comment is that they should deep fry the tofu before cooking with the other ingredients to give it that slight crisp.
