Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie

We visited the newly opened branch at Raffles City basement. The dining area was situated on the circumference of a dancing fountain :D Managed to find a quiet corner with big plush cushion seats. They offer set meals (some comes without mains) and they also offer breakfast sets. But since we already had a very filling dinner at The Asian Kitchen, we decided to settle down with some desserts to satisfy our sweet toothies. Girl girl was looking for her L' Amour cake which was unfortunately out of production, thus we settled for the following cakes below.

Le Royale

64% dark chocolate mousse, hazelnut feullitine, almond success and chocolate genoise with rum. absolute heaven! one thing i noticed are that the cakes here aren;t too sweet, which appeals to the health conscious us! the base reminded us of potechi chocolate crunch, with little bits of biscuit-like crumbs embedded into the creamy mousse. Must- try!

Tiramisu

Wanted to try this as it was one of the 'cuter' looking cakes on the display shelf. I thought that the stripes design on the cake made it unique because not many Tiramisus are designed in this way. The cake wasn't really special upon first bite, the taste grows richer as we continue eating. There was a top layer of jelly-like-thing which tasted a bit like rum. We also tasted a tinge of coffee and brandy. A classic choice for people who loves rum!

We'll definitely be back for more, to try the L'Amour ice cream and the other unique flavoured confectionery that they offer !
